The IHM School’s Saint John the Baptist Pro-Life League is commemorating its 25th anniversary this year. In honor of this milestone, Sister Marie-Jean, MICM (League director), and the league members hosted the first formal dinner at MacIsaac Hall on January 28, 2024. Students sold tickets in advance, and with the help of volunteer moms, the event was organized beautifully. The school gym court was transformed into a dining hall, with elegantly decorated tables and seating for 250 guests. Despite a snowstorm, nearly all the guests were able to attend! The atmosphere was enhanced by the musical talents of two Junior High students, who played the guitar and mandolin throughout the dinner.

The students, dressed in black, served a delicious meal of Chicken Marsala and accompanying dishes. Clarissa Small was our master chef, and her cooking skills were exceptional. Following the meal, a three-tiered wedding-style cake was served, and the guests enjoyed a video created by the League, followed by a speech from guest speaker Fr. Scarmozzino. To conclude the event, the League members sang the theme song, “The Voice,” which was written by a member in 2007. The evening concluded with a raffle for those who had purchased “PlatinumTickets” ($100), and Brother Thomas delivered the closing remarks.

We express our gratitude to the Pro-Life League for organizing this remarkable event, and we extend our congratulations to all past and present members for their dedication to pro-life activities over the past 25 years.
